Kalasha International, an initiative by the KENYA FILM COMMISSION in partnership with the FRENCH EMBASSY in Kenya, has appointed MEDIA PROS AFRICA, a Nairobi based media consultancy firm monitoring Africa’s multiplatform content production and distribution industries, to direct the Film Festival. The Festival will provide a platform for screenings, discussions and networking with stakeholders from East Africa and beyond.
“The French Embassy is committed to developing the audio visual industry in Kenya and is proud to be a key partner in this inaugural event” said JULIETTE VIVIER, Regional Audiovisual Attaché in Kenya. “In line with this, the embassy in consultation with the commission is happy to bring on board Media Pros Africa who will help us make Kalasha International Film Festival a world class event. We hope that film making will continue to create synergies between the two nations”, added Juliette.
This year’s festival will profile the best of East African and international films with the aim of showcasing new storytelling and visual techniques. “Film making in East Africa has evolved tremendously. The Kalasha International Film Festival goes to prove that there is potential for the East African film making industry to compete on the global film arena” adds RISPER MUTHAMIA of Media Pros Africa. “We are proud to be associated with such an initiative that puts East African filmmaking at the forefront.”
